Although there is no hotel on site they have managed to secure a camping area on site.
The area of Interlaken is a very busy tourist site so hotels do sell out quickly, I have managed to secure a limited number of double and single rooms in a hotel which is 2.3 miles away from the main site (family rooms also available), I’d like to add that these rooms can only be secured along with pre-entry to the event via myself. The other option is to find a hotel and book it yourself if you wish to be closer to the main site.
The Rod run will be around 90km (55miles) and having been taken on the route i would say its well worth the drive (although make sure you have good brakes) the route itself goes through the beautiful Swiss mountains with a couple of stops with food being provided at one of the stops.
At the moment I have no costings for the event but all the Reps have been promised to get this information by the 1st December. We have been Assured that the cost will be along the same lines as previous years.
Event entry cost will include the evening diner on Friday, lunch on the Rod Run, and entry into the Jungfrau Park.
Details and pre-entry form coming soon.
Also note this is a Pre ’49 (body style) event and you have to be an up to date NSRA member.
Please see NSRA Members magazine ‘Street Gasser’ for regular event updates.
The 2018 Event
We planned a 4-day trip out to Sweden consisting of around 1,050 miles. The trip will start by taking the overnight ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland on Monday 25th June. From here, we plan to drive via Lubeck Germany, up to Gothenburg and arriving in Högbo on Thursday 28th June. The return trip will be over 3 days. We plan to drive to Motala Sweden, then on to Trelleborg to catch the overnight ferry to Rostock Germany. Then drive the remaining 434 miles to Hook of Holland Port and get the overnight ferry back to Harwich – meaning you would arrive back in the UK Wednesday 4th July.
The schedule for the event in Sweden consists of:
Thursday 28th – chill out day
Friday 29th – Rod run and activities plus the Friday Hot Chilli Buffet
Saturday 30th – Show ‘n’ Shine plus the Saturday evening meal and prize giving ceremony
Sunday 1st – event ends and we will make our way back home
In 2017 the ESRA event preceded and then joined with NSRA Hot Rod Supernationals – The European Street Rod Nationals on the 9-10 August, then the NSRA Hot Rod Supernationals from the 10-13 August. Five days at the UK’s largest Hot Rod show – what could be better!
