The classics will only be worth lots of money if :- 1) They are in good nick 2)Someone wants to buy them 3)When / if he sells them. They are certainly not appreciating in value sat there rusting out, lets be honest, they wouldn't have been in pristine order going to a scrapyard would they ?
We had a 70 year old guy locally with 3 Mk 2 Consuls in his garden, he wouldn't sell them, or any bits ,cos he was "going to restore them". Well he died and the cars fell to bits when moved to make way for flats.

Why does that not surprise me that it,s still there......? Last looked at it 6 years ago and it was rough then. I used to live about 3 miles from this yard and it,s a fascinating place, well worth a visit if you,re in the area. The owner (Rollie if I remember rightly) is an OK kinda guy but don,t expect to find many bargains there. Don,t mention me if you visit because I owe him money. Ha ha!
I have a load of pictures of this place that I shot back in the late 80,s when it was run by the Edmunds brothers and it was thriving back then. There were cars in there dating back to the late 20,s, lots of 30,s tin, more 50,s/60,s Fords than you,d ever find anywhere else and some rare stuff that you,d never expect to find in a yard The Edmunds sold up some time in the 90,s due to new EEC regs on scrapyards and the majority of the cars were weighed in. The place itself, Blackborough Manor, is (was!) a magnificent house but the owners ran into money trouble back in the 30,s and "broke" the house selling off whatever they could to survive.
Like I say, well worth a visit. The last things I bought from there were a Pop front wing for £15, found it lying under a pile of old angle iron and the biggest, nastiest, rustiest old chain saw that you ever saw for £**. Can,t say how much because I bought it for Jonathon Hebbler as a Birthday present! It now hangs off the front of his workshop with a House of Chop sticker on it.

A mate had a 1939 Rover P3 in his drive that I kept on asking him to sell but again he was going to restore some time. In the end he arranged for someone he knew to collect with a Hi-Ab loader (the proper type that lifts with a sling at each wheel) and take it into storage. The Hi-Ab lifted it up - and it buckled in the middle ruining the body shell. It got took straight to scrap yard !

I visited there with a mate when on holiday 2 years ago. The black pop looked pretty clean (and had less shrubbery around it) and when I enquired about it they said it was sold and it was sitting there while the new owner made arrangements to collect it. I got the sense that this is a line they use - or maybe they don't like the Scottish accent - nah, couldn't be that! ;-)
The big mansion house is also amazing but in a SERIOUS, unsafe state of disrepair, it appears that they're one of those reclusive families who don't part with stuff even though they'll do nothing with it whilst it devalues.
In fairness, they did let us wander around as we pleased and there's a lot more cars/vans out there if you have a wander - some have been pushed downhill into a small copse of trees which have afforded them some shelter over the years.

Lee,not only can I see the roof of the house from my bedroom, but I enquired about the Pop 7 or more years ago, only to get the usuall reply,"we're going to do it up soon so we can sell the number plate".Yeah,right. Is there a 30's Chrysler near the front of the house?Another nice piece of kit not for sale. If you're there again, the kettle has usually just boiled........Jonathan.

Reminds me of one of my friends who often 'rescues' vehicles. They go into his field in a reasonable condition, then five years later, after various offers to purchase, they get loaded - falling to pieces - onto his transporter and taken to the scrap yard.
