The first pic is early/mid 80s, the close up is at the first NASC nats after the move away from Essex showground, dunno what year!

Always remember this car as I love A40's (sold my Dorset and always regretted it!). It has been around a long, long time - I am sure it was built late 80's early 90's. I saw it for sale in the CC classifieds a few years ago. It still looked very up together. The lines were just right and I like the clever use of the original trunk lid turned upside down.

2001 I think Dave?

Mick, I think that Al Stevens also had a hand in the build which may explain it.

Hi Dave,
Glad you like the devon, I built it between 84 & 87 as i love 30's'40's customs and at that time there was very few coupes around so some imagination and welding/filler was required.
Look at the thread on pop coupes to see other home grown coupes, the lines on the El Ritchie pop were near perfect, also look at his Morris Minor coupe. Capri (Kev) suggested Al Stevens was involved in my car but not the case as he was always too busy. Al Maiden.

Hi Al, good to see you on here and I stand corrected :)

Haven't you finished that '38 yet ?

Hi Kev, no I havn't, there always seems to be something else more pressing, I have been collecting parts for it for so long that these days I'll buy something I thought I needed only to find I have at least two already, so when it does get done there might be two of them.
Have to catch up this summer some where, I hope to be in my latest Austin, a Somerset convertible.
