Well, about time some pics were put in here. After encouragement, here are my modest efforts at a budget resto.
Lots of pics, hope they wont bore but they sure do show everything except the blood sweat & tears....

Thanks Peter!
As I said in my reply on Langy's Rides thread, this eve I will be putting further pics on from the Fotki host site. It'll take a bit longer, but will be easier for everyone than clicking on those blessed thumbnails...
Be it ever so humble, I am pleased with it, not being a man of deep pockets (I've also been known to peel the odd orange in there...)

Thanks Graham. I know it is not 'period perfect', but having looked at a lot of cars at the shows (like most of us do) I visualised it, planned it and it worked out just how I wanted it.

http://images40.fotki.com/v1239/photos/4/474156/4568055/Newtopcoilovermount-vi.jpg

N/S assembled. NB - had to trim away some of the sides to clear the caliper due to reduced lock. Must admit not too happy with rack where it is but cannot fit it in front as too much of a job.

Interior done. The seats are really comfy - N-reg Nissan Micra - £5 the pair. (er - plus the cost of vynil and £200 to have the covers made to pattern) Had to fit yet another pair of seat buckles as the nice beige ones were a smidgen short once I was forced to redesign the fittings inside the gaiter

Well, that's about it apart from the exterior

Thanks Mark. I wasn't going to put it in rides, but had some encouragement from Steve (Langy) & Tony (Klunk) and a few others. You are right about what one can do. Comes from my upbringing (me, Mum & Dad used to share one Mars bar a week, cut into three - if I had been good I used to get a larger middle bit) (cue - "we used to live in a cardboard box.......")
Seriously, it comes from the old-fashioned 'make do & mend' mentality - certainly works for me.

Tony, I have to say that a lot of my ideas were obtained from pics of various cars at the shows. I'm sure a lot do this - imitation being the sincerest form of flattery!
The highlight of the MOT for me at Craig's place was when he said "horn", I sounded the AAOOOOGGAAAHH and the door of the MOT booth was flung open and there was Chris with a camera phone and a couple of heads peering from behind him. Cool.

Thanks Tony - yes, due at Billing. Only there for Sat, as wife will NOT entertain the tent. We do however have a nice Pennine Pathfinder folding camper with all the home comforts, but cannot get our old Focus towbar modded to fit the Roadster in time. However, I may be able to persuade Her Majesty to stay in the lodge at Billing so we could poss be there Sun as well.

Cheers again all - Still a lot to do, namely paint (then again, I might not for a while - it has a certain 'antiquity' about it!) and of course rebuild the spare engine (winter eves)
Oh, slightly off-topic - the Pathfinder has gone, replaced by a caravan.
