okay, so seeing as i managed to break two of my valve guides in my little side valve, i want to replace them.
ive got a spare engine, but its only the 8hp compared to my 10 hp...
do you think that the valve guides will be the same size?
thanks

yup, just got them out of my spare engine....
gutes are the same size, but the big flat part of the valve its self, (sorry, dont know technical wording...) is .10mm bigger... lol.
thanks anywayy =]
btw, the engines are bloomin heavy... had to lift a complete engine on to a sackbarrow. lol not funn. =/

good luck with that..
not all that greater recovery to my opinion...
i think 'soory, the wolves ate my guard goat and pushed me off my chair... took over the computer and hey presto, the badger was poked with a spoon' works better.
lol.
but seriously, anyone who knows how to get the valve guides in, please tell mee. :)

To get them out take the springs out then knock the guides downwards and wriggle and tap them out the bottom with thin screwdrivers and fingers. Because the guide is split they get to a point where the two halves drop apart and come out. To put them back in you need to put the valve in from the top and hold it down with one hand and with the other hand put the two halves over the valve stem and slide it up. They go back in a lot easier than they come out. Try to keep them in pairs if you can. The valve spring holds them in.

Ah yeah I numbered the valves and they all went back in their holes but I mixed up the guides. Didn't seem to matter though.
