Looks spot on Tim , liked the original version but just the small amount of trimming has made a difference.

Yes, looks much nicer now.

Been working on the passenger side, didn’t want to bore you with reams of other hand fabrication so here’s the primed and fitted photos…
Both sills.
Fitted the headlamp in the new rims and fitted them to the car to keep them out of the shed.
Then I decided to tackle the side vents, I took the covers off and stripped them of paint and rotting rubber.
leaving this
Gave them a bit of time with the wire brush etc.
Then it was out with the epoxy primer and spanners.
And that’s three more off the list!!
Next it’s the Gutters!!
That’s it for now, more when I do more.

Excellent work Tim , you have to be happy with the way it’s going

Great work Tim, looks very neat.
This may be a silly question but did all of the English vehicles have the sills as there was none fitted to my Prefect, just the running boards?
And on to the gutters, they are not too bad considering it’s age, whilst I’ve had it I’ve kept it covered and WD40ed …
Time to break out that Christmas present that’s sat in the shed for years
After a good dose of cleaning and a few spot repairs I decided to weld the top edge to the car to seal it once and for all. then I put a lick of filler on it to tide it over.
They then got a dusting of Epoxy primer.
Next was the battery tray, fabbed from some press formed 2mm Zintec
Those long bolts I was making turned out to be too much of a faf to fit so I’ll stud lock some threaded rod in to make it easier. Then I plug welded in place.
Sourced the leads ready.
And treated the rest to a coat of Epoxy primer
And trial fitted the battery
Just got to finish the battery cover and fit the earth point and that’s some more off the list!!!
That’s it for now, more when I do more.
Cheers. Tim W.
Like the Christmas present, good to see your pulling everything together, that list has gone down again .
That workbench will have to receive an award when you’ve completed the build . It has to be one of the most used benches I have seen , it has a wealth of attachments that you use and continues to aid production.
Nicely done

Nice progress, I did the same in welding the gutters up - hopefully we both wont ever see rust again.

I managed to get the battery cover sorted from some 20-gauge Zintec
Cut it out and then out with the press brake
Put some blind threaded inserts in the boot floor
Whilst I was in there I welded in the earth point.
A coat of black epoxy primer and Jobs a good ‘un.
Next is the Boot lid fit and I may trial the (latest) finished colour whilst it’s off the car so watch this space!!!
That’s it for now, more when I do more.
Cheers. Tim W.
Great work and I love that you are doing it with home made tools which gives the rest of us hope we can achieve similar results
Nicely done Tim!!
