Got the Shroud drilled and trial fitted in the week and painted it Saturday morning… Please ignore the runs, I didn’t really have enough primer so it’s mostly activator and thinners with a drop of tint, that said I didn’t have enough to set the gun up properly hence the runs, okay it’s not pretty but it’s protected. Excuses over here’s the picture of the assembled rad/shroud/fan…

    Fitted on to the Pop.

I’m not happy that there’s enough space between the fan back and the crank pulley so I edged it forward 3/8” on the bracket and I’ll double check this is okay when I get the grill on, and revise the mounting accordingly.

Deffo got better clearance when the rads vertical

So there she is covered up looking like a car again.

Then I got the front sheet metal out ready for the next stage.

I’ve got some timber repairs to do on the house so it may be a few weeks before my next instalment!

That’s it for now, more when I do more.

    Cheers. Tim W.

Nice work Tim, see if you can get hold of an SD1 v8 top hose it should work out good on the top hose, bottom hose will probably be 2 different sizes and need a connector made up

    Hi Tim,

Great work, good to see it coming together, hopefully you can really move the build along over the next few months, fingers are crossed for you.

On the rad fitment, are you planning on leaning it backwards ? as this is better than vertical, apparantly, ignore this if your on it, but thought I would mention it, just in case.

Are you using the original fuel tank ? If so I have a new grommet, if you haven't got one, that you can have for the filler pipe.

    Keep up the good work,

    Cheers,
    Mike C.

Thanks Mike yeah hopefully get the dry build almost done by the end of Summer. I had intended to run it vertical but have seen others leaning back a bit hence the adjustment of the lower mounting, I really need the grill on to see how much room I left on the original setting up. Thanks for looking out for me mate.

I made a new tank and filler using a modified VW Golf flap and an MGB filler neck so I'm good thanks.

    Cheers. Tim W.

Very nicely done Tim, the radiator shroud is again a great piece of fabrication from the shed, never fails to surpise me at your ingenuity

At last I’ve finished the house stuff…
Took the cover off on Bank holiday Monday and luckily it’s still under there!
I looked out the inner wings and the grill and after a bit of to’in and fro’in I managed to get them fitted on and sort the revised radiator mount.

Got 4 inches of air under the grill at the moment.
I need to shave the fan shroud a bit and also jiggle the alty to make sure it doesn’t catch the inner wing but other than that it’s tight but it’s all in.

That’s it for now, more when I do more.

    Cheers. Tim W.
