hi ,i am going to built a car next year so i,m doing some research early ,have a good idea of what i want,i have a few of questions if you dont mind
1 is the body you are using fibre glass and where did you obtain it from?
2 did you build your own chassis?
3 what sort of finish or how good are the panels etc?
many thanks in advance

Although my Willys is down in the weeds it DID have the same door problem take a look through my journal it may give you one or two ideas
The best advise I can give you is make sure a good soak in a HOT bath after a long days scratchin is planned.
Keep up the great work

will need to dig out my bank statement to see when i bought mine but it must have been around that year
crusty
you got any new pics? have you fitted the boot lid yet? or the front end?
scottie
Sorry to butt in on your quote to crusty but the following pics of my Boot lid may give you a couple of ideas for your set up
3/4" box frame
Attachment 1703
spaced together with the lid using thin ply or thick card glued in using quick grip [no nails] glue
Attachment 1704
Then just cover between the rails with upholstered ply or thin polished Ally

did you glue the ply in place then glass over the lot?
seems like an easier way than using the inner skin will give that a go
scottie
Firstly just make the frame and hinge it then put the lid in place and if you can get in the boot from underneath. Lift up the frame and make blocks to the correct spacing. Glue them in and leave overnight.
I actually started to make card templates [thick backing card] intending to then use thin hardboard to fill in the sides before glassing over. But when I glued them in to see how the lot fit it was firm enough to simply glass straight over. The inner boot skin I got was a joke besides you still have to glass in some strength to hang the hinges to.
So basically make the frame first then fit to lid to it.
