Who cares If It's glass or steel, It's still a hot rod.
Amongst all the laser cut parts for the locks came the bits for the kick down linkage. With my seating position beeing ahead of the engine it makes sense for the throttle cable to approach from in front. The bell crank has a ptfe lined bearing in the centre with a shoulder bolt to rotate on. Link has reft and right hand threads for adjustment. Cable I should point out is just poked in as I need to sort the peddle end yet so can't set the length.

No, its a 40 Ford direct replacement dash. I printed it at 1:1 scale to see how it looks. From what I saw it is self contained and has one plug in the back and the required sensors. Should hope so at over $800.
That said I may stick with cream backed art deco round dials as looks more traditional T style.

Yay! Locks finally finished. Mini bear claws from Pop Browns, laser cut blanks created using CAD folded and welded. Return springs from a house door handle. And levers from a BMX as internal handles. Taken about two weeks to sort completely. Door panel will cover the lot leaving just the release handle and had hold (painted black).

I have two sets of spinner covers, but neither gave me that contented feeling, that 'yep that's it' buzz. So I designed these.

Having modified the Corsa column it was time to sort how it bolts into the car. A bracket sorted to hold the lower section it was time to think about the top. Now a Corsa like most modern cars has a tilt column but I figured this would be too hard to keep. Not one to shy away from a challenge I set too and carefully removed the bracket from the tilting piece and welded this to the section of VW column used. Then after extensive metal surgery the fixed bracket now bolts to the lower section's mount.
There is still lots to do as I need a coller inside to set the VW top bearing and a very large 'boss' to fit under the T wheel that will click off the indicators, and a column release lever.
I am wondering if I've set a new record for the most models/makes used in a single steering system? Let me see... Model T wheel, to home made shaft, to VW 1302 beetle column top, to Vauxhall Corsa C electric assisted column, to a hybrid Vauxhall/VW 1302 UJ, to VW LT van box to turn the steering 80 degrees, to home made link shaft partly using a piece of Ford Fiesta steering, to (finally) a modified Ford Cortina Mk4 rack..... phew!!!

Corsa column is available without tilt.
Nice work.
Layabout.
Oh! Looks like I lucked out then because I didn't search for a tilt one.
