    'The Candy Man' '57 Gasser.

It's the first chance I've had to get the car out of the garage since last September because of working on it and not being able to move it at all, so I thought I'd share a couple of pics with you. Sometimes things look ok close up untill you get the chance to stand back and take a look. I think I'm well chuffed so far.
    Anyway, here's a few shots...

Right, now on to try and finish it!

I've managed to find some original 150 trim in Texas that I'm gonna fit. It will help brake up the mass of orange ready for the rest of the lettering.

    Thanks guys for the input,

I've just gotta publicly thank Ray Young for helping out with moving my '57 about, I must also apologise for giving him 5mins notice and expecting him to be there right away......... Thing is though, he was!!!
    Many, many thanks mate,
    Micky T.

Give Ray a call on 07530 757815 if you want something reliably moved without a scratch.

Right where am I upto? I've got the exhaust fitted and it sounds great, it's got a nice low burble to it through the 'Dynomax' mufflers and all hell breaks loose obviously when you uncork the headers, there's a polished rollcage inside, more for looks than abiding by certain rules, but it's strong and looks the part anyway, it's had a lot of work done at Bry Whitfield's to help me catch up a bit time wise and it's now time to get it home so I can start work on it again. So me and Ray Young went to Bry's to collect the car, outside I'm trying to keep cool, but inside there's fireworks going off! It's sat there ready to go on the trailer when we got there, Bry's doing his normal running round at 100mph while I had a look round the car. The new side trim looks great, there's new fuel and brakes lines all round, tracking geometry, linelock etc, oh loads of stuff, a *poo* load of parts were fitted by the lads, but when he finally stopped he said, "fancy a run round the block?", I was in before he finished his sentence! So off we went with Bryan driving, *flip*ing hell he launched it down the road, I *poo* myself while he's smiling his head off, it's loud, it's bumpy, boy is it thirsty, but it goes like a scolded cat and whips the tyres up at 30mph easily!!! Basically I don't care, it's in your face and it's mine! It's what I've wanted for years, from the first day I saw the likes of 'Henry' and especially 'Roarin Rat', I wanted a hellish loud and quick street car and now I have, it's first maiden voyage was around the bumpy back streets of Sheffield and I'm sure it won't be nowhere near as harsh once I've ironed out a couple of things and driven it on a decent road. It's on the button and sounds really strong (no matter how much you pester Bry your not having me engine), there's still a load to do to finish it but at least I'm a lot closer, I'll try and keep you upto date as to what's going on with the car and post a couple of pics along the way, but I just gotta say a massive thanks to Bry Whitfield for getting the old girl back on the road again and also to Ray Young for trailering the car back and forth with only five minutes notice. THANKS GUYS!!!
Here's a few pics so far...

First problem is it's *wee*ing petrol from the lower gasket on the carbs, could well be why it's so thirsty? Anybody got some gaskets for Edelbrock carbs please?
I can definitly reccommend anyone to give Bryan a call for the work done and also Ray Young for a reliable and friendly service... Give 'em a call.
    Right, back in the garage,
    Micky T.
