I've got this image of a Mike Noble shaped Tasmanian Devil whirling around in a workshop somewhere in the deep South West......................
Blimey how do I explain? ... On the trans mount cross member you have a bracket that the trans bolts to, it is basically like a piece of angle with two fill in pieces to strengthen it. Well if you take them out so it looks a bit weak. That will allow a bit (tiny) of fore and aft movement to take the stresses out of the tail housing.
ETA..
Sorry if that came across a bit like I was putting you down, I meant it was actually hard for ME to explain!
