How To Add Images To A Post Using the NSRA Image Tool

As promised here is a simple run through of how to insert images through the insert image option included in the NSRA's posting dialog box.

Firstly make sure you go to your settings and make sure your forum settings are correct. To Access you forum settings, go to the top of the page under 'Forum Action' then 'General Settings'.

Scroll right down to the bottom of this page and select the "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" under "Miscellaneous options". Make sure you click the save button.

Name:	Step 2 - WYSIWYG.jpg

Size:	49.1 KB

Next go to the relevant section that you wish to start a new post in and click the red button at the top of the page ‘+ Post New Thread’ or if replying to a thread click the red button at ‘+ Reply To Thread’.

Size:	60.7 KB

Now you've done that select the insert image icon at the top of the text dialog box. The one with the little tree on it. Attaching the images doesn't allow you to increase the size of the image.

You will get another dialog box which asks you to insert image. This has two tabs at the top one for from computer and the other from html. Select computer and then at the bottom click the red 'Select files' button.

Simply find the image you want to upload from your computer and click the open on the bottom right.

Size:	175.7 KB

You should now have a small image of the picture you selected in the text dialog box.

Name:	Step 7 - Double Click.jpg
Views:	2209
Size:	47.5 KB
ID:	23165

Double click the image and another dialog box comes up for 'Image Settings'. Pick the size you require on the second row down and hit ok.

Size:	40.0 KB

The image should now appear larger in the text box. Finish off the post and then either click the 'Submit New Thread' button or the 'Submit Reply''/Submit Quick Reply' button.

Well done and thank you Glyn

Exactly what people asked for. Let's hope all those unseen project threads start appearing now

I see from your screen shots that you are using Google Chrome? - at the moment at work i use windows IE it falls over at "double click the thumbnail" the problem you had originally.

IanT is looking into this at the moment.

    Well done Glyn, thanks.
Looks so far as if the 'double-click to change image size' feature is unpredictable:
    - works OK on Chrome and Firefox
    - but not Internet Explorer
    - reported as working OK on Apple Mac with Safari (Roadster)
    - but not on iPad (stepsidebill)

    Thanks John

But wouldn't you just know it,the only attachment pic without a tick box is the one i want to delete, maybe i did something to lose the box while i was trying to delete it from 'Manage Attachments'

    Edit.
Just had a thought, the Pic in question was in a for sale thread which has now been closed, maybe that explains why i have no delete option tick box.

Depends on the OS system your using, I had a problem before and had to select compatibility mode, on windows, top right of the screen you will see settings, scroll down to compatibility settings an click on that, might solve the problem, hth, john

A reply from Alan Martin, might help you,

"Right, that was simple enough. I went and typed my reply. Then Clicked on 'Go Advanced'. Then clicked 'manage attachments'. You then get a box that allows you to download your photos. From the photos you have downloaded, drag the photos you want to add to the post into the bottom box (still the same window). Click to select the images. Click to add inline. Click done. Then click post quick reply.

All done on my iMac, using Safari."

Let us know if it helps?
