Looking for feedback on classic pickups on S10 frames

I'm looking at buying a 40's pickup and keep seeing them advertised dropped onto the S10 Modern frame etc. Has anyone experienced one of these hybrids?

What are the pros and cons?

Anything I should be looking for ?

There are some classic hot rod pick ups on the roads in europe with this set-up.
Plymouth PU´s, many late 40ties Chevys are with S10 chassis out there.
Pro, it drives, for example, like a pre 2004 chevy or gmc truck if you use the complete roller-chassis inc. engine, trans, ac/heat, cc, ps, pb.
The 180hp / 195hp 4.3L engines in combination with a 700r4 run well and deliver more street power than many think.
( Ok, often guys use the small block chevy conversion kit in the S10 chassis)

On the down side is the not org. chassis. Not a problem for many hot rodder, but when it cames to the vehicle registration process, it can cause massiv trouble.

it's only an issue if you try to get free tax and mot exemption rather than legally 'rebody' the s10.

The frame is smaller and if the mods are done in the US they are usually 5hit....body mounting brackets etc are just welded where they fit....
Any decent fab shop here would make a nicer job of it.....watch the wheelbase also...looks smaller on some series 1's I have seen.
