I've bought another car so unfortunately the Victor needs to go as I won't use it as much now and the extra space would be useful.
Built by Mick Eldridge (Kermit) in the 80s and featured in the December '87 Custom Car. I have full info sheets with every detail of the car that I can send if you want to see them.
But in short:
- 1959 Vauxhall Vitor F Type, 2 doored.
- 1969 3.5 Rover v8. Crane 224 cam. Stock crank (reground). Offenhauser 360 inlet & 390cfm Holley.
- Mallory dual-point distributor fitted with pertronix electronic ignition internals and flamethrower 2 coil.
- Borg Warner 65 gearbox.
- Home built chassis and rollcage.
- Triumph Vitesse based IFS, spax adjustable coilovers.
- JAG IRS with XJ6 and 420G parts. 4.11:1 diff.
- Disc brakes all round.
Since owning it i've:
- New aluminium fuel tank with new electric fuel pump, fuel lines, sender and gauge fitted.
- Carb serviced with Holley kit.
- Rebuilt front brake calipers with new pistons and seals.
- Replaced master cylinder and refilled system with silicone brake fluid.
- Fitted Pertronix ignitor 2 internals to Mallory distributor and flamethrowe 2 coil. New 8mm spiral core leads.
- Rocker covers modified for new oil breathing system into homemade catch tank.
- Front suspension top mount rubbers and ball joints replaced.
- Holes in headers repaired and painted in VHT white.
- Door rubbers fitted, 3 point harness fitted to passenger seat.
- New dzeus fasteners in rear interior panel.
All still very much how it was built 30 years ago. I have all the negatives from Mike key's photoshoot.
Car ran a 14.77 @ 92.54 at Santa pod last year, with some tuning by someone who knows a little more about the setup it should run some good numbers.
MOT expired on 31/01/17, haven't renewed it because i haven't used the car on the road yet this year.
Lots done to get the car usable and back on the road, while the car remains fundamentally the same.
£10,000. Car is located near Santa Pod, Northants. My number is 07702 590448.
