Where about are you based? I'll message you next time we're out and about your welcome to come over to the Scotch Piper if you fancy a run out,

All the best Pete and Sandra Whiteside.
Thanks Pete and Sandra and I will definitely be asking a few questions if something gets underway, just trying to a location, I’ve never took as much interest in car parks haha,

Thanks for posting some photos, I never took any. That's me talking to the guy in the striped t shirt in front of the pick up with the hood up, my pick up is the brown 3100. We had a total of 35 cars on the run out! Then back to the pub, and a good time was had by all

That’s just proof there’s still a good following in the north west, if that’s just a small selection from the Wirral, I know there’s a few nocking around Preston and I think the Blackpool lot are still active.

There definitely could be a revival of a Preston meet, has anyone tried a promenade cruise at southport? Always thought that would be pretty cool.

Looks like the idiots have ruined this one as well... a great venue that is now not available due to the Daft and Furious brigade..

Im sad to say the Preston meet is alive and dying,Ill be suprised if it lasts another 12 months.Ive watched the decline over the last 10 years and without the meetings which help promote hot rodding to a new generation surely its on a slippery slope to its demise.back in the seventies we were the young hot hatch brigade in our pops and escorts so the young kids today are only doing the same.So if the hotrodders out there are so concerned maybe they should get off theyre backsides and start attending the meetings

I know what you mean and good point well said, I just hope it not to late and with a few changes that hopefully have positive outcomes the meet will get a second wind.

Sad to see this,I thought it was just a midlands thing,as most of the night time midweek events in the midlands are poorly attended, with some down to single figures!
It just does not seem to make sense that we can have major weekend events that a packed out and then have a easy to attend event in the week unsupported.
I know the cars are there and on the road, some have genuine reasons like working night shifts but surely not all.
We like to use our cars as much as we can and I still feel I am not using them enough,is it really satisfying enough to go to one or two weekend events with a Hot Rod and then leave it parked for the rest of the year in the garage !!!

    valid reasons seem to be.
”I’ve worked hard all day and by the time I have had my dinner it’s too late”
”I came home from work and cracked open a can or two and thought, nah”
    ”I forgot it was on”
    etc
I am sure folks out there think their reason is justified, but even if you just got there for the last hour,eh.
This situation is really testing my own enthusiasm now, maybe I will stop bothering to go too, slippery slope do you think I may not even go to Popstalgia today now.
its a short season ,and it’s a short life,so get that car out.

Waste of my time typing this,Sadly,I i think things will change and ,GET WORSE.

I think a lot presume everybody is on Facebook or that we're getting older so forget which cruisers are on at which days. If you check the 'whats on' on here, Rods 'n' Sods & Torqued Up they don't have most on. How many come on forums saying they didn't know something was on until after the event. Malc

What a great night, couldn't have asked for better weather. Lovely clear evening with a great sunset, we ended up with 35 cars on the run.

Hi all, looks like we’re getting to the back end of storm Freya, and since the swap meet is next week the rodding season is fast approaching, and if today is anything to go by hot rodding and classic American is far from dead at least in the Preston area. There is hope for a Preston cruise it just needs a venue !

And by the looks of it I need to get down to this Southport meet

Hi Sam we're going to try a new meet in the morning. It's mainly classics but I've heard a good few Americans turn up. Weather looks rubbish but we're going to see what it's like anyway I'll let you know how it goes, up to now half the people who said they were going are now backing out. I'll post a few pics if anyone turns up if anyone fancy's it, it's at the junction pub in Rainford
