This is really looking cool! Interesting to see what looks like an ugly motor to begin with stripped down to essentials

Bit of a quick update on the build.

Had a few problems with coil placement on the valve covers with the turbo headers i have. Designed up a quick bracket to relocate higher up on the valve covers. These will be made from Billet aluminium on the CNC mill.

Cross over pipe has finally been made along with the Turbosmart wastegate mounted. All pipework has been back purged and is made from 304 stainless steel.

Not far off being able to fire up now. Exciting! Name: 20190124_185022.jpeg

    Quick update:

Had my coil relocation brackets machined out of billet Aluminium. Works and looks much better than i expected!

Exhaust is fully completed now with a 4" downpipe. All using again 316L TIG welded and back purged.

Just to make up my HT leads now and put some oil in and we should have life! Im terrified...Name: IMG_20190215_173421_127.jpeg

Update! IT RUNS! Sounds incredible through the unsilenced 4" exhaust haha.

Used a set of ACCEL ceramic spark plug wires which are extremely good for high heat applications.

Had to change the flexplate as i soon realised it was warped so off it came and a TCI flexplate was installed in replacement.

Mishimoto intercooler installed. With the size being such a perfect fit youd think it was a custom item.

I also have a new set of shoes. US Wheels ratrod wheels 17x8" wrapped in Nankang AR-1 semi slick tyres. Kindly supplied by the guys at Nankang for the build.

The light at the end of the tunnel is getting progressively closer! Name: 20190307_203043.jpeg

    Its been a minute.

With the fight for space ive been battling with heat. Having to wrap spark plug wires with titanium heat wrap, and preventing heat soak into the alternator and powersteering pump. Turbo has also had a carbon turbo jacket. All my heat management is from a UK source called Funk motorsport who are highly recommended.

Intake system is all on and finalised. Not having an AC tig at home meant i had a challenge with making aluminium charge pipes. Pre intercooler had to be made from 3" pie (we all like pie). Not having AC meant it wouldnt be convenient to make this section in Aluminium. But hey, it looks cool right? Aluminium side has a Turbosmart raceport BOV mounted to it, quality products yet again from the Australian company.

Just waiting on my aluminium radiator to arrive and it will be complete and ready for mapping.Name: 20190415_193820.jpeg

Ive been busy rushing to get this finished and i did. After waiting for customs to release my radiator that was!

Radiator went in and off i went to a local meet!

I am extremely impressed with how it runs and drives. Lets say its pretty terrifying with no weight over the rear haha.

Holley efi is phenomenal! Ive changed a few bits and bobs to the mapping and away it went in closed loop.

Did some mileage over the bank holiday and thought id wind the boost up as i wanted to find limits as early as possible so i could iron out problems early on.

You guessed it, i broke it. Lifted the heads at 20psi on new stock bolts. I knew this would happen but it was a matter when and how much boost. Studs are currently on order along with LS9 gaskets to drop the compression down.

All in all im extremely impressed! Name: FB_IMG_1558601479071.jpeg
