Thread: CDS steel tube?

    CDS steel tube?

where can i get CDS steel tube, 7/8" OD (22.22mm) with thick wall to tap 5/8" unf.

it's for front and rear panhard bars, plus a drag link.

the guy i used to use retired and closed down last year, he was 72. all the places i've tried want to sell me 6 metres, that ain't cheap and i'd never use it all. i need 3 lengths, 22"-28"-32".

    anyone help please?

the rally/race car 4 links and panhards we do at work are thinner wall tube (compared to what you mentioned) with threaded inserts welded in the ends. we keep the inserts in various thread sizes and tube in 1 meter lengths if you get stuck. it's what i used for all of the suspension and steering on my anglia gasser race car.
    neil.

i already had the cross link made up so i wanted to keep going the same way, however, the inserts was the next way i would've gone. chatting to a mate and his triangulated 4 bar is made in high grade aluminium. works for him even with a blown hemi!
    thanks for the response.
