Drum Brakes on an 8 inch Ford Rear, identification

OK I have an 8 inch Ford rear end on my rod, I didn't build the car, TBH I've had it for a good few years and I have no idea what the rear drum brakes are from. The original builder built it 20 years ago so I imagine he's not going to remember either so how do I identify them? I'm guessing the car is getting to the point it needs new brake shoes but as I'm probably going to have to buy them on line or by a phone call it's not like I can take them off and walk in to an American parts place and say " can I have some of these please" LOL

By measuring the width of the shoes and tye internal diameter of the drum will narrow the options a fair bit.

I just replaced the rear brake shoes on my Ford 8”, it had a heavy duty, 11” drum brake conversion. I bought them on line from Mustang Maniac, they have a large number listed with all the dimensions so should be relatively easy to match them up. Good service and quick delivery.

Cheers.... I'll pull a rear wheel, take a pic and do the measurements. Time is running out to get the rod to the Supernats and I was hoping there was just a part number or something that would identify a year or model ... I know most Ford drums are very similar but, as always they make difficult for us...

Drum diameter and shoe width are what you will need.
Bought the brakes for the 8" axle on my cougar from mustang maniacs, good service and next day delivery..
