    ford pick up

good evening.hope you do truck builds on here.
got this 54(could be a 53) to do some mods on.jag suspension,302 engine, new exhaust.change the engine bay a bit, swap the steering and do a few other odds.

was hopeing for dry building it in five weeks, but dueto some unforseen issues,it will probably be six weeks

    first up the bulkhead

    thanks john.

i like to think,i offer a budget alternative to the brand name shops.

im not sure im a fast builder, just im lucky to be able to do most of the stuff in house, and im very organised.if you put youre head down and do a good days work, you can chomp through stuff very quick.i have no distractions in my working day.

onto the chassis.boxed the rails and made the centre bits of the chassis.these are pre threaded,to allow for removable lower prop loops

xj40 jag rear,i have narrowed this 100mm to allow for a wider rear wheel.i still need to do some work on the lower arms,to take coil overs

a few pics.just crept into week five on this.
i wanted to try to keep the engine in the same place it was when it came in.so i notched the crossmember, and took a bit out of the sump and oil pick up.

then as its now got a jag clip the new headers didnt fit.one side hit the rack.other side hit the starter.swapping them from side to side gave a bit more clearance, but covered the engine mount holes.

made some new mounts to suit and modified the headers to gain a bit more clearance.

next up was making bits to do the later jag rear end.

id already shortened the arms and shafts, but to get tire clearance i had to narrow the mounting subframe, and modify the handbrake mounts,so stock cables can be used.also did the mounts for the coilovers

Wayne, if you're getting oak strips for your bed from England let me know where from as I'm in the market for some too.
    Nice work by the way.

thanks.hopefully be done friday,so that will be a 30 day build.

ive had oak beds done befor.think it was american white oak. i just went to the local timber yard, and got them to cut and mitre it to suit.then i gave it a few coats off varnish.

ive kinda got a free hand on this build,so i went with composite boards,as i wanted a grey to match the wheels.i then used a router to to put the steps in for the strips.thats a messy job.

one with oak from befor and this one,i did yesterday
