you said every job is different but sure you can't complete a build like this in 30 days without detailed drawings and a plan i understand you do this day in and out so when do you do your planning

I think you're judging my capabilities with all the other rod shops out there.

I'm not them.im geared up to build one off stuff instantly.i do not do kit rod stuff.there is no planning time.i have a ten minute rule, and that's I give myself ten minutes to design whatever bit I'm working on.

It works for me.youre prob used to the bull ,shops give you,to make you part with you're money.and keep you're car for years on end,or take you're funds and produce little for it.

For the spec of this car 30 days is reasonable.do you not like the quality you see.my record for a pop build is 25days.

Others I've done have taken ,60 days.ive not got to make seats or pedal box for this,it's having no cage,so stuff like that keep build times down.

The other thing with having a 30 day target ,means the labour bill is sub 10k,though I'm pretty sure if I run over by a week, the owner won't be concerned to much.

These are dry builds, not full builds.thats all the fabrication work done.owner will still need to strip it down for paint and powder coat.it will need rewiring.it will need to be trimmed.it will need to be reassembled.sll that will take more time than the fabrication work I do

i got my times wrong.i had a day on it today.stripped it ,flipped it over so i could do all the welding underneath, and reasembled it into a full rolling chassis,so it ready to take the body.

today was the end of day 12.thats 12 working days from when i pushed the stock pop into my garage, not continous days,as i flick between projects.

one thing all my projects have in common,is that none of them are the same.

a very small selection of whats rolled out of here

that pop is sweet sadley i'm not in a position to have someone build me my car its took me nearly 4 years for me T one good thing is i have a good friend who is a retired engineer he makes anything i need i cant tackle,
one thing you mentioned i'm at 13k so for my build so at around 10k for the work of your standard seems a bargain

10k is a labour bill, not a build cost.build costs vary dependant on the parts you use.

Whatever way you do it,there's not a cheap way to build a car.even worse if you're paying a shop, though customers can make a choice,as to who they use and the price they want to pay

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.
