Wow excellent work here, very neat and tidy going to be an absolute cracker. Keep it up

very nice as always. the rear prop loop looks like it could've done with being further forward though, it looks in the pic to be over the uj/donut area so if that failed the prop tube still wouldn't get held down by that loop. could be the angle of the pic but i thought it worth mentioning.
    neil.

not as bad as it looks with the prop but i can see what you mean by the pic.
ordered a remote filter housing as the standard housing wont fit as i want to try and fire the engine up next weekend just so i know it all works as it should and i will also be able to see how it sounds with the 3" full exhaust system.

first up got the rover v8 flywheel turned down to take the rx8 starter ring, then got the fuel pump and filter mounted ready for some fuel pipes. next thing was fitting a filter relocation kit to the rover because the standard unit was not going to fit as the front crossmember was in the way.
put the front inner wings back in place and the rad to check it all fits . just got to order a couple more bits then i think the engine can be started next week end and once i am happy then the body can go back on to get all the panels gapped/

so last night things started to progress.
fitted the flywheel , stuck the gearbox back on with the starter motor and a battery and hey presto we have an engine that turns over. next step this weekend is to connect up the fuel system and the engine and go for fire up/
if all goes to plan i should have a video of it running at some point this week end.
also the new fibre glass bonnet has arrived for the cortina so will try and work out what i want to do with that, dare say its going to get cut up/

things have not gone to plan this weekend. connected up all the electrics to run the engine yesterday only to find nothing happens, no injector clicks , no fuel pump, not a bean. checked over the loom and all the connections are correct but no sign of life. must have a broken wire of a duff relay or even a duff ecu so today was lets crack on and get the body back on so i can start sorting out the rest.

cortina seems to be getting all the attension lately . got hold of a fibre skin and wanted to make the bonnet look a little less star ship looking so have decided on a scoop that looks like it could have been done in the 60 s / 70 s .Name: IMG_20220423_105827.jpg

Size: 132.6 KB looks better in the flesh than it does in the pic but i think it gives you the general idea. i have made a frame that it will be bonded to and hopefully it will tilt forward. get couple more pics on tomorrow.

bit more done on the bonnet, built a frame for a bit of support for the fibre glass as its so thin. also got the front vents cut in . was going to hinge it from the front but now just going to hold it on with bonnet pins so that it still lifts of.

    cheers tim,
made up some brackets to hold the rear bonnet pins using the exiting fixings points as i still need to fit the current bonnet while the new one gets sorted. with all four pins mounted the inner frame was drilled to suit so now the bonnet skin can be bonded on to the inner metal frame.
