excellent progress.
Here goes then... Had some better weather so I was able to get some fab done!
4 Bars all done
fabbed the panhard rod mount
And finally the re-make of the bat-wings
So I quickly put one on to try and see how she looked.
Looking good if I say so myself.
Even got enough clearance on full lock (without bending the steering arms!)
Nothing else for it now but to “Z that chassis to get it under!
I decided to cut it like “Mart” did, so firstly I scribed my cut lines
After a sweep with the cutting disk…
There’s no turning back now!
Just a bit of tidying up to do and removing the bits of left over “K” member
Back out to the Pop again to position the axle.
That’s it laid in place, as you can see it needs a bit of a lift.
That's it for today - out of time! I will post the next installment soon.
Cheers. Tim.
Hi Tim,
Very good I'll agree, talk about dive in the deep end, still making good progress. I can't see some of the pics as my filter won't allow it , so I'll have another look tomorrow at work,
Top stuff mate,
Mike C.
Nice one tim bitting the bullit I diddnt like cutting my chassie spent a couple of days measuring and re measuring and measuring again just in case at least your a step further forward now
adie
Right here we go again, as you saw from the last picture I needed to lift the chassis front section about 3” luckily I had some 80 x 40 box salted away from a job long ago so I dug down in the back of the shed and found it out. I cut two lengths and off we go.
looking good and giving the right amount of clearance for the axle.
With a bit of shaping I end up with this.
Clamp them on and see how it looks.
Clamp the chassis on as well.
Make up a little shaping plate as well.
And I’m ready to fly – so to speak!
Tack and check
Looks good.
That’s more like it, looking like a chassis again!
One side fully welded.
All boxed at the top and then I ran out of gas – Doah!!
Me gas has turned up so let’s hope I get some dry time at the week-end!
Cheers. Tim.
Very very impressed with this build, really like the way you suss out each problem and tackle it no messing ! Building a motor outside is real dedication and you deserve to finish and enjoy that car.
Nice one.
Dave.
Hi Tim,
Seen em earlier, very good mate, Rad hit it on the nail you deserve the finish, and fun,
Cheers,
Mike C.
Tim you are to be commended for working outside, I can remember doing it years ago and it was never easy, well done.

Got this far...
That's as far as I got. My camera seems to be full of pictures of my first grand child now so it may be a few weeks before I get back on to the Pop!!!!
lets hope for a dry summer tim so you can get loads done great work
Here, here pete! Getting there Tim, I know how fustrating it is when you can't work on the car because it's raining. I try to make sure I have a list of things to do on the inside of the car as well as outside.
Zetec powered pop ON THE ROAD!!!
Yeah of course you have the same problem glyn I admire you guys working outside. When I got my first ground up build I had an old asbestos garage that turned out not to be big enough so I built a garage before I started work on the pop
