Mk3 Zodiac rear axle, handbrake linkage.

Does anybody know how the handbrake cable runs on this axle? I assumed it would go through the left tab, with a hole in, (which I think is standard) to a clevis on the pull bar poking through the brake back plate, but it looks like too steep an angle for a good clean pull.

    Any ideas?

The big tabs are for mounting my mudguards.

I think I need to fabricate something, by the looks of it. That’ll ruin my show finish Hammerite paint job.

Look at the Small Ford Spares 105e van handbrake cable diagram then Google MK111 Cable and they look like they are both the same set up.

I think some brackets were cut off my axle when it was altered to fit this car, as I found a blurry photo that showed something that I don’t have.

Well, I have it now, did some cutting and welding today.

However, I think my cables are a little puny, 2mm core, may have to find something bigger. They are ‘universal’ cables from one of the kit car suppliers.

I could do with side by side comparing what I have with something like that 105e cable, to see if it would fit.

Get in touch with the guys at Small Ford Spare they are very helpfull. Ask about the measurements of the 105e cable and compare to yours.

most 'classic' fords come to that, one cable from the lever goes to one side and it's outer goes through one end of a cross rod that's connected to the other side.
    neil.
ps this pic should show what i mean.
