    My 1955 Pop

Klunk has talked me into details of my pop so here goes

I bought the pop from alcablown via ebay

This is the interior and the daimler 2.5 engine

Treve had already told me that the engine needed work so I decided to check it over so out it came

It was decided to replace it with a rover V8 3.5 which I got from Grant Fuller (iambiggles) wihch roland (roland cad 500) kindley delivered for me added pop brown engine mounts and in it went

    Changed the steering column position

Added a new rad, connected the exhaust, relocated the alternater with a pop brown bracket, edlelbrock carb and manifold got the air filter from dez58pop

Tony (klunk) came round on saturday 28 june 2008 ( i put the date just to keep up) and fitted the accelerator pedal cable and kickdown linkage

    and a new dash

Now when the old dash was out there was a pile of wires all over the place so I thought a rewire was a good idea and I bought a pop brown wiring loom and I thought how the f*** am I gonna do that but luckily for me a mate was encouraged into helping so many thanks to tel (boycee) for all his help for the wiring and all the other bits and while I'm thanking people Ian (morecubes) roland (roland cad 500) as well as other people already mentioned

So thats me up to date

No no no, That's (Boycee) Tel's job! He has rewired the dash (twice).

We have all helped Pete along the way in various ways and hopefully it'll be out stomping the streets in the very near future.

It is even wearing my old PCV set up as featured in several 'Tech articles' fitted last weekend, as I hope my new engine won't breath quite so much.

The rear axle is either escort or anglia, we have yet to get a definitive on that, but it's certainly an 'english'.

    Not if I drove it....LOL

I killed an escort diff one week after I installed my Rover....LOL

But then again I drive it like I stole it and it is manual.

Planet gears are the week link. I've done two sets..... Now have an LSD!

With an auto and a wee bit of care it should last............

redone the brakes so new calipers, new hoses, a new brake pipe on the viva front new wheel cylinders, new brake hose and new brake pipe on the rear (tel's been busy)all bled and I now think the servo's not working so now looking for a servo from a sierra, Bled the air from the rad etc.
Due to low oil pressure in the the RV8 which is common I saw Real Steel did a High volume oil pump kit so bought that and got that fitted saturday and early indication is that it does what it says on the tin 30 psi on tickover when warm and when reved was getting 60 - 70 psi so I'm well pleased with that at the moment.
Still got to fit the front bodywork and fininsh filling and rubbing down the bodywork re fit the seats and then hopefully an MOT If it all gets done in time then I'll take it to the hot rod drags
