NSRA Pre-’49 Event

The 2017 Pre-49 Event was based in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, home of the legendary 617 Dambuster Squadron. Over the course of the weekend, we explored Lincolnshire’s extensive and rich aviation heritage. From the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s flying Spitfires, Hurricanes, Dakota and Avro Lancaster, to the Digby Lima Sector Operations Room, to Just Jane at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre.

Following on from the theme of previous years, the Pre-49 Event was a driving weekend taking in the sights and history of Woodhall Spa. The event, open to NSRA Members only, incorporated visits to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre at RAF Conningsby and Metheringham Airfeld.

Our base for the weekend was the Petwood Hotel, a charming country house hotel steeped in aviation history.

Note that this event is strictly limited to NSRA Members only and all cars must be pre-49 body style.
